What is ‘Black Warrant’ ?
Black Warrant a New Crime Thriller Web series thrill you with the experience of a Jail, Jail is a place that everyone would like to stay away from. This is the reason why people have little knowledge about the world inside the jail. Yes, many films have shown things like bullying in jail, bad food, not getting a place to sleep in the rain, but Vikramaditya Motwane’s new web series Black Warrant shows the dark truth of the jail world so deeply that you get lost in it. Based on the book of the same title written by Sunil Kumar Gupta, the jailer of Asia’s largest Tihar jail, and journalist Sunetra Chaudhary, this series shows the corruption inside the jail, the jailer-prisoner relationship, their lives as well as the story of famous prisoners who were hanged in the eighties.
Review
The web-series begins in the early 80s with the skinny Sunil Kumar Gupta (Jahan Kapoor) becoming a jailor, who is discouraged by everyone for this job. The reason is also justified, it is not easy for this new jailor with an average height, who cannot utter a single abusive word, to control the prisoners of Tihar. Still, Sunil not only stays there with his stubbornness, but also tries to change the conditions of the jail and the prisoners despite all the difficulties due to his sensitive approach. But the biggest hurdle in his path is DSP Rajesh Tomar (Rahul Bhatt) who supports the gangsters of a group in the jail to fill his pockets, this money of corruption is distributed from top to bottom.
Watch or Not – Must Watch
if you like 80’s drama you can definitely watch but sometime you may feel kind of boring scene overall its a Must watch web-series which takes you for a different experience as recently no web-series of this kind have been shown.
