American billionaire Elon Musk’s company Starlink is ready to enter India. This has increased the tension of Jio and Airtel. The Department of Telecommunications has received the recommendation to allocate spectrum to Starlink. Telecom regulator TRAI had sent this recommendation on December 15. Now preparations are underway to allocate spectrum to Starlink to start satellite broadband service. Starlink will provide internet service directly with the help of satellite.

Tension of Jio-Airtel and others will increase

Airtel, Jio and Amazon are also preparing to launch satellite broadband in India. Jio and Airtel have also completed their regulatory process in this direction, but it seems that Starlink may be the first company to launch satellite service in India. This will have a direct impact on Indian telecom companies and another big company will come to compete with them in the market.

Starlink service may be launched next month

Starlink’s service may be launched in India next month. The Department of Telecommunications is currently considering the method of spectrum allocation. Jio and Airtel want that bids should be made for allocation. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that a decision on spectrum allocation will be taken by the end of this month. This has led to speculations that Starlink’s service may soon be available to people in the country.

Starlink will provide connectivity even in remote areas

Starlink is currently providing its service in many countries including Australia, Europe and America. Its biggest feature is connectivity in remote areas. Actually, it does not depend on towers etc. for the network. It provides internet directly from the satellite. Because of this, it will become easier to access the internet in remote areas. However, its service will be slightly more expensive than Indian telecom companies.
